While students are gaining trade-specific skills with their Tech Center program, the 21st Century (soft skills) component of Wenatchee Valley Tech guides students through SkillsUSA career readiness lessons that will prepare them for workplace success.
Workplace skills are broadened with lessons in networking, communication, resume development and cooperation. Students are also directed into the community through job shadows, internships and community service. Every program meets for 21st Century (soft skills) once a month to answer questions and provide work-time. 21st Century (soft skills) is an online course with 24-hour access for students.
A student may receive up to 2.0 CTE (elective) credits per semester. If a student starts later than 10 school days after the beginning of each semester, the credits awarded will be prorated. For example, if a student starts at the end of the first Quarter, theywill receive 0.75 CTE (elective) credits for that semester.
Wenatchee Valley Tech is part of the Wenatchee School District and follows the WSD calendar.

Course Description
The Automotive Technology program is a preparatory course, which provides students with "Real World" skills. Located on campus at Wenatchee Valley Tech, the modern, well-lit 15,000 sq. ft. shop & classroom area contains the latest in vehicles and equipment. The shop boasts 10 hoists, computerized wheel alignment machine, tire mounting and balancing machines, valve and seat grinding equipment as well as the latest in hand held meters, scan tools and lab scopes. The shop contains 17 individual Snap-On tool cabinets as well as a specialty tool room.The Automotive Technology program is NATEF (National Automotive Technician Education Foundation) certified. As a NATEF certified program, this program has access to certified curriculum, vehicle and donations from various manufacturers and support from more than 300 other schools in 45 states. All of this is at no cost to the student! The only thing a student needs is a desire to learn, a pair of safety glasses and some coveralls.
Students maintaining a B+ or better grade can receive seven (7) college credits their first year, and three (3) college credits their second year through an agreement with Wenatchee Valley College.

Course Description
In the Collision Repair Technology program, students learn tool identification and proper use, vehicle construction, minor body repair, sanding, painting components and techniques, estimating damaged vehicles, MIG welding and many other operations related to vehicle repair. The program includes use of I-CAR (Inter-Industry Council on Automotive Repair) professional training materials. College credits can be earned through the Tech Prep articulation with Walla Walla Community College. The only thing a student needs is a desire to learn, a pair of safety glasses, and coveralls.

Course Description
The Construction Trades program includes field trips to commercial & residential job sites, building materials business, roof truss plant, a concrete plant, and others. Hands on projects community projects, Tiny House construction and sheds. Each day is filled with practical hands-on activities designed to build construction skills and knowledge. Students are encouraged to develop initiative, respect and hard work, along with carpentry competencies that include construction jobsite safety, residential framing, concrete, roofing, sheet rock and insulation. Students may work toward and receive a 1st & 2nd year Certificate of Completion as part of this course, and may work off-site for a construction company in our Work Studies Program.Construction Services to the General Public:

Course Description
The Cosmetology program is an 1600-hour program that prepares students for the beautician, barber and manicure industry. Industry concepts of hair, skin and nail services will bring each student into direct contact with current products and services, all taught by skilled professional cosmetology instructors. Lecture and lab time are documented, as per state regulations, to qualify to take the WA State Cosmetology exam for a professional license. This program is now located on our main campus at 327 East Penny Road, Wenatchee, WA.Now that the class has moved to our main campus, all of the student's hours in class are free of charge, as long as they continue as a high school student. Once a student has earned a high school diploma, they are no longer eligible to attend the Tech Center programs.

JD Beauty Academy:
For students who do not earn all the Washington State Cosmetology hours needed for their Cosmetology License, we have an agreement with JD Beauty Academy. The JD Beauty Academy will transfer over all hours earned from WVTSC.

Course Description
The Criminal Justice/Police Science program is geared to give a broad overview of law enforcement. From store security to Supreme Court judge, you will learn everything from the history of law enforcement to handcuffing a suspect. Various methods of instruction will be utilized to help the students learn. Lecture, presentations, guest speakers, field trips, written assignments, hands-on activities and written tests are among some of the techniques used. The focus is to give the student a taste of all aspects of law enforcement and aid them in their decision on a career.

Course Description
The Culinary Arts program prepares students for a career in the food and hospitality industries, training them to work in restaurants, hotels, resorts and cafeterias. Participants learn kitchen procedures, dining room service, deli operations, baking, food preparation, banquet and catering service, hosting and storeroom management. Local restaurants and hospitality companies are instructional partners, helping students learn through hands-on experience in a real restaurant. Course Description
Digital Media Arts (DMA) at WV Tech is a hands-on, professional-oriented program geared for students who want marketable job skills for careers in the television, motion picture, freelance videography, music recording, and sound engineering industries.
Career Opportunities: Camera Operator, After Effect Editor, Video Editor, Audio Technician, Freelance Video Producer, Broadcast Journalist, Social Media Manager, Music Producer.
Academic Equivalence Credit: Fine Arts and English Community
The Digital Media Arts (DMA) program provides students with skills and experiences in digital communications for the television, video, music production, and broadband industries. We have partnered with local employers, "The Wenatchee Wild", the "NCW Life Channel", "Digital Media Northwest", "Wenatchee Valley Symphony Orchestra", "Kenaston Music Productions", "Stagekids", and "Voortex Productions" to provide jobs for students in broadcasting/livestreaming, advertising, multimedia, camera operation, multitrack recording, and live audio production. Our 9-12th grade students make $75/game as camera operators with The WIld, and The NCWLife Channel.
Teamwork is emphasized in scripting, producing, recording and editing commercials, interviews and short feature projects. There is College Credit available for this course through articulation with Spokane Falls Community College. Check out our program pathway for getting into these careers.
Every student in DMA gets access the the full Adobe Creative Cloud 2020 suite of software on any computer, anywhere with an internet connection. This includes: Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, Audition, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Character Animator, Animate, Dimension, and more. Students will be issued a web version of "Learn Adobe Premiere Pro CC for Video Communication" by Joe Dockery and Conrad Chavez. We will be completing coursework from this book, and preparing to take the Adobe Premiere Pro Certification Test.
Skills that are helpful and reinforced in this program include: writing and communiciation, listening, organization, time management, interpersonal and leadership, saying "yes" to opportunity, and becoming a quality team player with a positive attitude.

The Fire Science Program teaches structural firefighting and prepares students to take the Washington State Firefighter 1 Exam. Student fire recruits are issued full modern fire protective gear, and participate in extended learning experiences at local fire stations and training facilities. The Course is guided by the “Essential of Firefighting” course book, and is taught through a combination of lecture/powerpoint presentation, hands-on training, physical fitness regimen, guest speakers, and real-world scenarios.

This course is College Dual Credit approved and articulated with Wenatchee Valley College (WVC) for 10 college credits. DSHS background checks will be completed prior to admission to any of the medical facilities.
The purpose of this course is to provide 11-12 grade students with an overview of the career options available in the healthcare field while receiving all the training necessary to become a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant. This license is a prerequisite to many nursing programs and will allow employment in nursing homes, assisted living, in-home care and hospital settings.
